Very nice temple dedicated to the goddess Amatseratsu. Nevertheless if you have visited Kyoto it won’t impress you.

This is one of the most important shrine in Japan and it has more than 2,000 years of history. It is said that the sacred sword of Kusanagi, one of the three sacred treasure, is worshipped in the main shrine while the other two treasure is in the Imperial palace in Tokyo.

Good place to enjoy New Year atmosphere and to understand the Japanese culture. The place is quite large with a lot of beautiful scenes and great sculptures. You can come here to pray and wish many things or just relax yourself and immerse to the beautiful nature. Worth to visit in Nagoya.

Big big shrine here. The inside area is large. Beautiful building. Very close to subway station. You got off the train and enter on the east side, then you walk through the whole shrine and get out on the west side there is another station there, make it very easy to get to and from.

The second oldest Shinto shrine in Japan, this one is a must visit if you are in Nagoya. Beautiful grounds and stunning architecture.

One of the holiest places in all of Japan, rumored to hold the legendary sword Kusanagi. The shrine grounds themselves are fairly easy to navigate, and house the main shrine, a separate wishing plaque area, and a museum dedicated to Japanese treasures, swords in particular. Very highly recommended visit if you are in Nagoya.

Second only to Ise Shrine as one of the most important shrines in Japan. Purportedly houses 'kusanagi' - the mythical sword that Takeru Yamato use to save his life while quelling the 'easter barbarians'. A nice place for a stroll in the middle of the city.

The buildings are fairly new but walking around I. The woods was very nice. Be sure to take a walk to the right of the main building, and stop at the water shrine where you are supposed to make an offering and splash water on the moss covered rock. Continue on the path for a peaceful stroll.

I'm only giving it less than 5 stars because the place could be more foreigner-friendly. There were no explanations in any other language and the only reason we managed to learn anything about the place was because we were lucky enough to come across a very kind Japanese man who spoke English and was eager to teach us everything about the temples and more.

Huge beautiful shrine right in Nagoya city. Easy access. Shady peaceful and calm. The perfect place for a walk, a lunch or for personal meditation... and when you’re finished, it’s just a short walk to the nearest station. I was delighted by the autumn foliage I saw there today (12/21). I hadn’t thought of Atsuta shrine as a destination to see colored leaves, but it did not disappoint. It’s a must see in Nagoya. Similar to Issei Shrine in Mie.

Easily one of the most beautiful shrines in Japan.Atsuta Shrine is home to one of the three great Shinto treasures. There are also plenty of festivals held here during the year, the main two being New Years and Atsuta Festival. It's pretty crazy in the area during those times, but definitely worth a visit if you can.

I’m biased because it’s my local shrine, but I love Atsuta Jingu. There’s a really nice path behind the shrine that lets you escape the city for a bit. And the pond by the kishimen shop is perfect during cherry blossom season.

A very big and beautiful shrine with various paths and gardens to walk around. You can get a stamp here for ¥300 and make a wish by throwing water into the fountain. It’s very crowded in January, but the rest of the year it should be emptier.

Atsusa Jingu is a traditional Japanese Shinto Shrine. This is the Biggest Shrine with a museum of real Japanese Swords and the tools to forge the masterpieces.

Not the grandest temple in Japan. Signage to "attractions" such as the oldest stone lamp in Japan and oldest tree in Nagoya could do with an improvement.

This area is a great place to walk around and pray. The park is actually quite large and there’s quite a few places to stop and explore. It’s so peaceful and green here. Unfortunately, we were here while it was raining, so we didn’t explore everything.

Questions & Answers

Available at the office. I remember it was until 17:00.

There are 3 free parking lots. It's easy to stop on weekdays.

I do not know well, but at first, it would be better to consult with Atsuta Jingusan, as it is not something that can be easily discarded, so there is a place where you can return for a year or so, I think that you can accept anywhere.

What is the guardian god

I think that Denmacho is good.

It seems that there are places that can be stopped free for up to 400 units on the premises. It is on the homepage. Just when there is a wedding ceremony etc, it seems there are things that can not be stopped. There are lots of coin parking in the vicinity, so why should we go with the worst coin parking? Although there are some lanes in three lanes and four lanes in the streets of Nagoya, I do not think it is easy to run much because there are many roads. Basically because it is a car society, it is crowded.

Yes, we have it.
